MTSS is a scientific approach that provides schools with a framework for helping educators provide academic and behavioral strategies and supports. As part of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), MTSS takes a proactive approach to identifying students with academic or behavioral needs. By targeting supports, students are able to work toward catching up with their peers.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is part of MTSS and focuses on behaviors. PBIS can help educators build an awesome school culture and address behavioral challenges in a positive way. These interventions, when paired with the academic assistance found in RtI, can help students to improve in all areas.
For schools implementing or looking to implement MTSS, Triumph Education Services can provide support. With its Behavior Plan Writer, MTSS members easily interview, assess, track, and coordinate behavior interventions for students.
Schools can use built in interview forms, data collection sheets, and pre formatted tier 2 and 3 intervention plans along with FBA’s and meeting notes. Schools can also contract to have a custom platform built that utilizes the school’s/district’s unique forms and processes.
